Dense Medium or Heavy Medium Separation is an effective process that is used for the initial or further separation of iron ore, diamonds and other minerals from mineral-bearing material extracted from mines. This process involves separation via gravity, and is also referred to as the sink-float method. As the name suggests, gravity is used to separate the different materials with different densities.
