What is Ferrosilicon?
Ferrosilicon is a ferroalloy (an alloy of iron and silicon) containing between 15% and 90% silicon. It also contains a high percentage of iron silicides. Its melting point is in the range of 1200°C to 1250°C. Ferrosilicon also contains 1% to 2% of calcium and aluminium.
